Right engine cowling blew off and landed in neighborhoods in nearby Bloomfield, Colorado. Pilots shut off engine banks and make safe landed back at Denver International Airport without anyone injured.
The United Airliner was full of fuel and on the way to Hawaii.
Large pieces and small landed in Bloomfield just west of the Denver Airport. Cowling from the airliner’s right engine fell in one person’s back yard with hitting the house of anyone. Another hole in the roof of a nearby home had a piece of the airliner’s engine sticking out.
